Horrid autumn- 9/8/17

A Horrid factoid- The original jetty was extended in 1890 out to the small island at the end of the present causeway. Following some land reclamation, a new dock was made on the east of the point, and one of Britain's smallest known Cement works was established.

09/08/17
06:15-07:40, low tide

Point- zero migrant passerines

Viz mig- Nothing

Offshore- Little evidence of change. Spent the time going for a count of the feeding Redshank- 477. Annoyingly, the Black-tailed Godwit numbers remain low- just a handful of the 160 or so loitering around the basin put in a show. The birds are often in Otterham of late.

All a pain in the proverbial. Sorry! I'm a luddite/technophobe (still won't even have a mobile phone) so much else is beyond me..

If still doesn't work, pls send me a DM/post to my twitter a/c @dunnokev to let me know- thanks! Kev 18/12/21
